I agree with the statement. Teenagers tend to think that looks is everything. It means friends it means porpularity but they are wrong.They think that after going through the plastic surgery their 'ugly' problem will be solve. They have a stereotype thinking that plastic surgery can allow them to be perfect in their looks and bodies. More importantly the reason why they have this mindset is because they like reading magazines. Well you may wondering why i said that. It is because the cover page of the magazine always had the picture of people who had perfect body shape and perfect look. Wanting to be like them, they will think of solution. And the first thing went to their mind is plastic surgery.
But unfortunately they didnt realise that inner beauty is the most important thing comapred to the outer beauty. In the show ugly betty, though betty is ugly, his inner beauty has won many admiration from the guys. This shows that inner beauty will always win outer beauty no matter what happen. For example if a girl is very pretty and she is ruthless compared to a ugly girl who is friendly gentle and generous. Who will has more friends? Of course is the ugly girl.
More importantly, they didnt realize the consequence of having plastic surgery. Teenagers nowdays tend to be reckless and did not think of the consequences. They did not think what if the operation fail. If it really fails, it will ruin their look. Moreover having a change of face also need a sum of money. It is around four thousand to five thousand. IF they fail the operation, not only they lose the money, but also they will leave a scar at their face. Would you dare to take a risk?
Also, some religion think that our looks is given by our god. If this is so why shall we decline this gift from god. We should appreciate it and thank our god for giving us this look.Even if people think you are ugly your look suck, we shoul not take it to heart as that is what others think not you. As long as you think you are pretty, we will always be pretty.
To conclude, I think that teenagers should be themseleves and aprreciate thier look. Beauty is not everything.
