“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
Being concerned with looks is an ordinary matter. Definitely, looks are important as usually it gives others their first impression of you. However, I personally believe that looks are just shells, the cover. I trust that one’s attitude and intelligence, characteristics and others, are more important in any form than looks. There is also a quote commonly found which supports the above,” Do not judge a book by its cover.” It is the inside that is more important, which one cannot be seen easily--unlike looks. What is someone with an angel face but a devil mind? Your looks will only cover your weakness and shortcoming temporary. However, even if you are not as pretty or good looking, but you have a kind heart, I believe you will still be as attractive or even more attractive. I think that inner beauty is more realistic than looks.
However, nowadays people seem to be more concerned with one’s looks than his/her inner beauty. Commonly, people would be more influenced and affected by ones looks. Some people are easily deluded by one’s looks. Especially when teenagers are not as mature as the adults, they tend to notice more on one’s looks than one’s inner beauty. Usually, they tend to compare looks with each other, leading them to be more and more concerned with their looks. I guess that is why they wanted to alter their appearance. Maybe some of them want to be the most beautiful and attractive one, so that the others would be envious of them. Or maybe one’s fame and popularity depends on his/her looks.
In anyway, I do not really agree with those teenagers who want to get plastic surgery. I think there is no need for such extend. I believe everyone is special in their own way, so they do not need to totally change themselves just to be more attractive. Surely, there will be someone who will appreciate you. So, just be yourself. But I am sure that there will be someone who disagree with me and have their own way of thinking. In any angle, it will still be one’s decision and right to choose their paths. It will be their choice whether they want a plastic surgery. I cannot choose for them. Some think that after altering their appearances, more or less, they will be more confident than before. Maybe this is an ideal way for them to boost up their confidence. They have their rights to do whatever they want to help themselves.
In conclusion, I advise teenagers to think carefully before having plastic surgery. It might be too late for them to regret after having plastic surgery. They will need to be responsible for themselves. But I will stick to the idea of natural beauty!
