Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks.Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their looks.Plastic surgery, to many may seem like the perfect solution to all their problems. Its easy to see why teenagers think beauty equals happiness, as media nowadays perceive it as such. It is rare to see supermodels or superstars with less-than-perfect hair, bodies, faces and even teeth. Thus, to many teenagers, they feel pressured to be beautiful too. To teenagers, everyone who is looks good seem to have it all-results, good friends, admiration and popularity. However, it is impossible to think that beauty will give you good results. Having plastic surgery only alters one's looks, not their intelligence. Also, a gorgeous person with a bad attitude will not give one friends, admiration and popularity. So what is it that makes one successful?In my opinion, it is having the right attitude to make friends, and having confidence to allow one to speak up, ask questions and thus get the results one desires.
On another note, plastic surgery may cause more harm than good. Other than emptying out your parents' life savings to get a different face, one will also risk the danger of the operation. Once you go through with it, the scar remains with you forever. It is difficult for many victims of a botched surgery to get over the traumas of their past. Thus, I think teenagers, and in fact anyone else considering getting plastic surgery to alter their looks should think twice,thrice and consider all the pros and cons of it before making a decision.
To end off, I feel that the classic, time-tested saying" Beauty is only skin deep" still stands till now.It may sound cliche but it is true. Although people will not buy apples that don't look appetizing on the outside, but they will also not buy apples which are not appetizing on the inside. I think we should all be happy with our God-given looks and work on building up the right attitude instead:D After all,
attitude is what people look at in the long run, not your supermodel-perfect looks!
